I have heard that an agreement has been reached to relocate Kingswear Castle from the Medway to the river Dart where she will operate in conjunction with other vessels and with the steam railways. The move will give KC access to workshop facilities and a skilled manpower pooI I am told. Operation with be under the guise of the South Devon Railway and the relocation is likely to be effected fairly soon I believe.
Bit of a smack in the teeth for those that had worked so had in the past on the Medway to restore her, from laying on the mud at Borstal, then in a worse state than the Medway Queen was at the time, at Rochester for some years, what a reward!

Yes Len I heard that on the local radio this morning, posted it @ 9.39 on my build thread Totnes Castle. You my disagree but I think the Dart is where she belongs. I believe she will be part of the Round Robin trip. That is start at Paignton Station by steam train to Kingswear, ferry across the Dart to Dartmouth then by boat ( Kimgswear Castle ?) to Totnes, back to Paignton by classic double decker bus. If she can earn her keep and be kept in good working order. Should be enough for all the hard work done.
Hopefully the Medway will have the Queen one day. Geoff

More news on the Kingswear Castle website http://www.kingswearcastle.co.uk/Future.htm and Dartmouth Steam Railway http://www.dartmouthrailriver.co.uk/days-out/paddle-steamer-kingswear-castle
Sad news for Chatham though, leaving a big gap on Thunderbolt pier - after all, she has spent more years on the Medway than the Dart.
