Hi all
I started out on ship modelling with Billings Bounty and Norske Love (static models) and I have just finished a Fleetscale semi kit (!:72) of HMS York (Batch 3, Type 42 destroyer).  I have now turned to thinking about a 1:48 scale model of PS Waverley and propose to build from as near a semi kit as is available.  I look forward to using the forum for hints and tips on solving the various problems which will no doubt arise in the build.  The internet is certainly awash with detail and general photographs of the Waverley.  By the way, I haven't visited the new Glasgow Transport museum yet (30 minute drive!) but I have heard bad reports about the ship displays.  It seems that the arty-craft folk have been given too much rein to the detriment of the modelling fraternity.

Welcome dstrathaven to paddleducks

with a 42 under your belt you should be fine with the Waverley.  You will find plenty of friendly people here all willing to share there experience bot good and bad (those pesky pitfalls that we all from time to time find ourselves in)

I look forward to seeing your build start and good luck.
