Hello to all you here at PaddleDucks,

I'm not a stranger to making models but i'm a definate NewBee when it comes to boats and paddle boats.

Well i've not a clue where to start or what paddle boat is a good choice, living in Bristol the Waverly would be a popular choice but i have no idea what is envolved or even where to get plans for such a beast. Perhaps there is a beginners model that i can cut my teeth/Paddles on so i am willing to listen to all reasonable suggestions........

Hello there nice to see you have fun on here and its a wealth of info....
regarding a paddler Waverley has been done to death i would do p.s Bristol Queen its of similar size and very elegant just google her i am sure plans are available for it try Clyde model boats...

Hello and welcome  :) If as you say, you're a total newcomer to boats and paddlesteamers, I'd suggest you could do worse than trying the 'Tipstaff paddle tug' or the 'Phantom' (?) blockade runner - both fairly straightforward models, quick to build and apparently work very well - I wish those had been around when I started!
..Or, if money is no object, the Glasgow kit by Graupner could be worth considering..... but I'd still make the Tipstaff first, just to learn a few basics  ;D

Hi All,
Many thanks for the recomendation... and yes Waverley has benn done ... to the death? ... well not just yet!

Since Day one I have been tempted to do Waverley ... But there are other hull suppliers.
The original drawings are well guarded / lost / not available....

Anyway ... a lot of searcing has turned up a set of plans wich i belive to be true!

So maybe she is not 'done to death' ... just yet!
