Have started scanning in photographs from some of Lachie Stewart's build albums. For starters some photographs of construction of the Flying Scotsman.
As can be seen construction started with fairly conventional plank on frame but with bow and stern sections missing. The bow and stern were added in wax, then removed and cast in resin. The inside of the hull has been covered in glass cloth and resin.
Lachie is a master in the art of moulding as he was a dental technician during his working life, as well as being an internationally recognised champion athlete.
More of the Scotsman to follow and also of the Volcano.
Should any other computer illiterate modellers require a publicity agent my rates are very reasonable. ;)

Latest pictures scanned in from Lachie's build of the flying Scotsman. I notice that the dates in the album are August to November 1998......a quick build for Lachie although it has to be said that he considers it unfinished.

Great stuff....the bow and aft wax sculpting method most interesting...watching close for a shot of the structures on the aft deck :yeahbaby
