Title: Diagonal paddle engine
Post by: bananas-rox on December 09, 2011, 07:42:35 AM
Just wondering is anyone here knew a boat that ET Westbury's diagonal paddle engine would fit into. Thanks

A typus like Graupner Glasgow was a possibility for example. But bigger scale.

See the attached  photo, in the foreground a model of P.S.Albion (part of P&A Campbell's white funnel fleet). Powered by the Westbury engine. Built by a friend I meet occasionally at shows. This was taken at Cardiff Dock about 2005. In the back ground my P.S.Glen Usk (same fleet) 5 feet long with a Cheddar plant. So I think Albion is 6 feet. The engine is not so big a problem as the boiler. R.G.Y
