Title: Interior of the waverleys lounge bar and restaurant below deck

Currently building a static model of the Waverley as it is now! Maybe not ideal but i wanted to do the lounge bar, hall way, engine room and restaurant below deck with all the fittings etc thought being a static the weight wouldnt matter so why not go into finer detail of the model!

So does anyone have photos or know anything about the interior them? floors, walls, furniture etc.

Thanks guys your help is appreciated!! i will also being lighting up these rooms.

There you'll find all sorts of photos of Waverley, including a lot of the interior detail, but you do have to go searching to find everything!

Are these armour or toughened glass & frames?...........I have seen the video Waverley @ St Ives Bay 1994 ......where she is being pounded by a heavy rolling swell & the windows partially under water

Just revisited the video....at the 2.07 minute point the Portside first four picture windows are clearly under water :goodluck

Both snaps also confirm the level of natural light in the bar & restaurant area....... :beer ....Derek

Post by: Walter Snowdon on July 29, 2011, 03:55:29 AM: If you look carefully at all the window exteriors you will see vertical guide rails where storm boards are slid into place for rough conditions. Again, look at the sponson deck and you will see these boards stored there. They are painted black with a long rope to hang them over the side for fitting. The forward window boards are a devil to fit as they are all made of steel and heavy and the sharp tumblehome at the bows mean they hang into space and are difficult to get into the slides! ...yes they are but I have no idea if they are toughened/bullet-proof/regular glass! I've never seen the storm boards fitted but have seen them 'ready for use' as it were, on the sponson decks.... and seen tattershall castles' (in the engine room) in the past before the ships last refit (mixed feelings about that refit - but I digress...)
somewhere I have interior pictures of the canteen, I'll post then soon as I find where I stored them

Post by: mjt60a on July 31, 2011, 08:08:50 AM: by the way, the first picture I posted showing the forward saloon before the restoration/refit shows the first four windows closest to the camera! the bar was between the entrances and close to the boiler room, you can see out the door (port side) right down the engine room alleyway...
