Hi PD's,
my model Bloody Oak is nearly finished so i am looking round for the next project and it will be the PT Iona.
I have an GRP hull from Eddy and some plans and an article from an magazine about her from Walter (thanks for that) what i want to know is, is there someone who has build this boat and has some photos because the plans don't show many details.
Every help would be very appreciated, regards Hans

Probably not much help Hans, but here's a couple of photos....

If you look at page two you will find some pictures of my "Iona " build.I used the Model Boats plan which certainly lacks detail.
I have used a certain amount of artistic licence ( The wheel house is pure fiction and is held in place with blu- tac )
This will be removed when I turn the small fittings like the engine room telegraphsand binnacle etc to detail the open bridge
I have increased the draught by about 12mm and the resulting hull is very stable.
The tug is powered by a Como drills motor with an 11 to 1 gear ratio the final drive being achieved using 10 tooth Como drills sprocket wheels and drive belt.
Hope this may be of some interest
Regards
Joe

Hans,
following on from what Joe said, my model of GLENCOE was built to Joe's copy of the IONA plans and I too increased the draft to give a very stable model, and I saved time by fitting Graupner paddle wheels which have so far proved substantial.
