Title: Paddlewheel river boat
Post by: Straw Boss on June 13, 2005, 04:41:12 PM
Hi, All,
Can anyone on the forum give me any information regarding the
stern-wheeler river boat, Callahan Jr. that plied the Chipola River between
Applachicola, FL and Blountstown, FL in the '20's and early '30's? It was a
relatively small sternwheeler with two tall stacks, that carried mostly
cargo. (Naval stores, I think.) In 1932, her engineer was named "Jones". I
think it would make an interesting model, as it should be simple and easy to
build with relatively few details.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
John

I would say the best place to start research_for steamboat photos
would be the Ralph DuPae/Murphy Library. They have over 32,000
steamboat photos. Their web address is
