Hello all,
just introducing my self, what can I say, male 50 years old residing on the west coast of Scotland. Reason for being here ? my boy (13) has just intimated that he wants to build a paddler after a trip on the Waverly during the summer. I noticed a link to your selves over on Mayhem and thought I would join up.
Living on the West Coast Im obviously going to go down the Clyde/West Coast route, thats about it from me have to go and start reading through the forums

Welcome GSN.
There is lots of info here for Clyde / West of Scotland paddlers. If there is a particular ship you or your son are interested in we can probably point you in the direction of plans or drawings. I started my first paddler at 13 so it can certainly be done.
If you are based around Glasgow there are a few people in the area on the forum and a specific club which sails paddler and clyde steamer models is at Rouken Glen.
regards,
Richard

Hi richard
yes theres lots here indeed, infact Ive hardly moved for two days reading the forums LOL, for the boys model I think it will be a "bitzer" bits of this bits of that, but defiantely west coast/clyde themed how ever I think Im hooked and as I originate from the east coast, Fife in fact. I think I would like to have a go at one of the Fifies. I have posted in the research section of the forums asking if anyone might have any info. Ebay has supplied me with a copy of "Steamers of the Tay" so thats a start.
What a great place we have here just so much knowledge its great
