June 18, 1910 (100th anniversary)
The Toronto Ferry Company's $75,000 island ferry "Trillium" is launched at the
Polson Iron Works at the foot of Sherbourne Street. The ferry was abandoned in a
Toronto Island lagoon in 1957 and restored to operation in 1976. Today the ferry
is mostly used for special charters and service during summer peak traffic.
On July 2, Heritage Toronto is sponsoring an evening dinner cruise on the
Trillium with local historian Mike Filey providing a guided tour of the harbour.

Unfortunately the Trillium is reserved for special events (which usually cost an arm and a leg ), and most of those who worked so hard to have her done can't afford to visit her.

Gerald.

I had posted my lament on a local Toronto forum.
"Unfortunately the Trillium is reserved for special events (which usually cost an arm and a leg ), and most of those who worked so hard to have her done can't afford to visit her."
and received the following reply,
"It was in answer to this very question that the city is making Trillium available to the public offering 12noon-2pm cruises on each of the Five Fridays in July. Regular fares in effect."
The City is not advertising these runs.
I am hopping to make one of the trips with my camera.
Regards,
Gerald.
