After photographing PS Eppleton Hall, I followed Randy's advice, turned around and took 20 paces forward. PS Eureka is one of only two walking beam paddlewheelers still in existence, and was typical of many of the ferries used in the San Francisco Bay area.
I have five pictures to post, all today. I didn't pay the $5 to go aboard the four available vessels. Eureka was once a train ferry, and was rebuilt to convey passengers and motor cars. Today it houses a collection of historic cars. None of my photos shows the side paddles clearly.
I have also added a fourth Eppleton Hall picture in that thread.

Here are a couple of pictures that include the paddlewheels though they are very hard to distinguish in both pictures. They were non-feathering and are visible from inside the vessel itself. The single cylinder engine had a stroke of 12' and bore of 65". Her retirement was forced when she broke the crank pin on her crankshaft. Here is a link to the plans provided by the National Parks Service through the HAER survey as well (it's been posted before, I know); http://memory.loc.gov/cgi-bin/ampage?collId=hhsheet&fileName=ca/ca1500/ca1504/sheet/browse.db&action=browse&recNum=0&title2=Ferry%20EUREKA,%20Hyde%20Street%20Pier,%20San%20Francisco,%20San%20Francisco%20County,%20CA&displayType=1&maxCols=2&itemLink=r?ammem/hh:@FIELD(DOCID+@BAND(@lit(CA1504))) (http://memory.loc.gov/cgi-bin/ampage?collId=hhsheet&fileName=ca/ca1500/ca1504/sheet/browse.db&action=browse&recNum=0&title2=Ferry%20EUREKA,%20Hyde%20Street%20Pier,%20San%20Francisco,%20San%20Francisco%20County,%20CA&displayType=1&maxCols=2&itemLink=r?ammem/hh:@FIELD(DOCID+@BAND(@lit(CA1504))))
