Title: fmr SWPV/SWPS Delta King, Sacramento
Post by: Roderick Smith on March 23, 2010, 03:17:16 PM
I have just had three nights in Sacramento.
Sat.20.3: I cruised on MV Empress Hornblower.
Sun.21.3: I got back from Yosemite too late for dinner on former SWPS Delta King, now moored permanently (but floating), with engines removed to make lower-deck function rooms.
Mon.22.3: I had dinner in the restaurant section, very nice.
This is about three times as wide and three times as long as a large Murray River paddlesteamer, and far more akin to an ocean-going ship.
Hull: now a function space.
Main deck: now a function room.
next level: restaurant and some cabins.
next level: mainly cabins, plus a bar.
top deck: canopied sundeck plus wheelhouse.

Here are the remaining four photos.
Two are in the main dining room, just forwards of midship.
One shows the private dining room, right forwards.
The other shows a greeting card from sister ship SWPS Delta Queen.
