Because of the actions of a spammer, new users, that is those with a "Newbie" status, will be unable to search the memberlist or send a PM (Personal Message) to any forum member.
Posting a few messages on the forum will soon increase your access level so you will then get the ability to send Personal Messages.
It's a sad state of affairs that we've had to take this action, but the spammers are getting more an more active, so these measures are necessary. I'm sure any genuine user will understand, and appreciate the reasons for these actions - It's to protect Your privacy!
