Title: the old yahoo forum
Post by: Waverley on June 12, 2005, 09:07:36 PM
Hi Eddy and all

I see from PJ's introduction that the old Yahoo group forum and posts still exist.   Is it possible for mere mortals like myself (who was never a member of the original group) to access it - there must be some fascinating stuff in there.

Regards

David Milne

David, and others...

It's impossible to give access to the old Yahoo forum, but I've made a small start in copying the messages across to our new site - You'll see the new message area at the bottom of the forum page.

You CANNOT post any new messages, OR reply to messages in that area.  It's there purely as a source of reference.

Because I have to copy each and every message manually from the old Yahoo group, this is going to take me a long time, but hopefully I will get to the end eventually!

I won't be copying every message, as a lot of them were questions about accessing the Yahoo group, or automated file announcements etc etc, none of which have any relevance to this site....

Hi Eddy

Manually copying all those messaegs will take you a year and a day!.  Didn't mean to lay that burden on you.

But thanks for doing it - I promise to read every one.

Regards

David

No problem David - it will take a long time, but sooner or later Yahoo will pull the plug on the old Paddleducks group because of lack of activity, so it needed doing anyway.... It would be a crying shame to lose all that info!

There ya go - I've copied almost 300 messages across from the old Yahoo group, so that should give a bit of reading material that may give some inspiration....

300 messages is about 10% of what I have to copy, so it's going to take a while yet to get it all transfered over!
