TThe paddlesteamer picture gallery has just been updated (11th October) with some superb pictures of PS WAVERLEY which are new to me, particularly one of her in Monasteril blue hull with yellow funnels. Take a look. Regards, Walter

I've never seen a picture of Waverley with that colour scheme, and I have to say that I really like it!
The website Walter refers to can be found at: http://freespace.virgin.net/tom.lee/

I like that better than the 'red funnels with red lion on a yellow disc background' which looked a bit of a compromise to me... but I'd have to say I prefer the present colours best of all (though, strangely perhaps, I miss the white deckhouses...)

I'd like to see Waverley in buff funnels....that'd cause an uproar if I even mentioned it....

I always thought it a missed opportunity prior to Waverley's rebuild for the last few weeks of the season to have had some fun - a lot of preserved steam loco's get repainted for charter etc and raise some good money by doing so.
My hat goes off though to the film company who gave Bal a red funnel a few years ago ;D

Mentioning Balmoral. Last week I watched a documentry film about the sinking of a hospital ship near Lundy in the Bristol channel and what kept popping up in a submarine periscope in a menacing manner but good old Bbbbbbbbbalmoral! Walter.
