Title: Pedal paddler
Post by: Roderick Smith on August 27, 2009, 07:30:26 AM
From the free afternoon Melbourne commuter newspaper MX, using an item circulated by Reuters.
Wang Guanshun's paddleboat, made from a bicycle and four metal tanks, can get him across a pond in Hefei (Anhui province, eastern China).  72 yo Wang spent a month building his simple craft.

What I can't see is how the final drive to the water works.  I can only guess that there are paddles across some pairs of spokes, but not across all pairs.

Looks like he's thought of keeping his pants dry as well. Very ingenious craft for the journey in hand.

Perhaps we could copy the idea for a rescue boat at the lake.  :bravo
