Title: Engine plans?
Post by: Eddy Matthews on August 14, 2009, 06:21:03 PM
Hi guys,

This has absolutely nothing to do with paddlers, or even model boats, but does anyone know of an online source for plans for a tiny diesel aero engine? Something around 0.1-0.2 in size. A friend of mine would like to try building one, but so far he's drawn a total blank with finding any suitable plans to work from....

Can anyone help?

Regards
Eddy

I assumed that the guy wanted a 0.1-0.2 cu in engine plan, that turns out to be incorrect.... What he's after is drawings for a 0.1-0.2 cc diesel engine, so it's TINY!!

Can anyone help please?

YES!
"Nano" is a 0.1cc engine. It was described in Model Engineer several years ago, and a construction booklet was produced that included the drawings. Unfortunately it is no longer available from myhobbystore, but the goon news is that I have a copy. If you like I can scan it and email to you - when I can find it.

That sounds like it's exactly what he's looking for Malcolm, thankyou!

I did find one photo of the "Nano" engine on the web, for anyone that's interested...

Having made the offer, I can't find the booklet. However, I have found it in myhobbystore - it's PE40. There is a write up on it in modelenginenews.org . On the index in the left hand margin, click on engines, then projects, then scroll down to advanced engines and find it there.
