Title: Steam control valve position

Hi all
Where's the best position for R/C steam control valve, between boiler and displacement lube or between lube and engine?
I was thinking that it if goes between lube and engine the steam valve will be lubricated as well. is this good or bad idea.
Any comments welcome.

You are right, it is good to have the valve lubricated as well. However, there is another consideration, depending on the type of lubricator you use. If it doesn't have a valve to shut it off, then oil could be sucked into the boiler when it cools down. In this case, having the steam valve before the lubricator would prevent such a problem.

I have a shut off valve on both the boiler and lube, so will take your advise and fit valve next to engine, the only thing that slightly concerned me was the steam oil attacking any seal material in the valve.
