Hi PD's,
today i discovered that the Waverley Western Isles cruises are postponed till the end of May. The sad thing for me is i can't chance my holidays because everything is organised all the B&B are booked so i will go anyway and make the best of it.
regards Hans

That's a real shame Hans.....
I know you've already booked your accomodation, but if you fancy a trip down to Darlington for a few days we would love to see you, plenty to see and do around here!

Apparently Waverley needs some work doing to her boilers, so that will add to the winter refit costs and to the time taken to do them, hence the cancelled western isles cruises :(

I know her dry docking was planned to be done after the Western Isles so if this is still the case I don't hold up much hope for the Bristol Channel 'short visit' this year . . .
-
I hope its not cancelled! I am due to work on her for a week from 6th June! It works out nicely- train from Darlington to Bristol on the morning, go to medway Queen keel laying ceremony in the afternoon, train from Bristol to Penarth to Join Waverley there in the evening. I hope the God Of Little Things is in a good mood and smiles on me! Cheers for now, Walter.

Hi Walter,
You'll have to get to Bristol a bit earlier to see BR Brit 'Oliver Cromwell' depart!
I may be at MQ event at Abels, if I do go stay in contact and I can give you a lift across - I am planning to go on the Waverley's evening cruise that day too.
Stay in touch . .
Cheers

Waverley's Season has begun . . . Sailed from Glasgow this morning with her first cruise of the season.

You'll thoroughly enjoy it Ken - And I'll bet you stand for hours marvelling at her engines as they drive her through the water, a magnificent sight!
I'll also wager that although it will be your first trip, it won't be your last, as you get hooked on the joys of sailing on a paddler!
Regards
Eddy
P.S. Don't forget the camera, and post a message telling us about your trip!
-
Right, Eddy!
Same I do every year for more times. Having been on my first paddler about 1960 with 4 years sailing on the Chiemsee in Bavaria. Hanging the whole trip on the grips around the hole of the engine. And now with 53 years old always sailing on the paddlers remained. Lake Constance, Switzerland.. and maybe sometimes on Waverley with its impressing big engine.

Hello everyone. I am joining waverley at Penarth, 10.0am Saturday 6th June and working aboard for a week so any of you sailing on her next week LOOK ME UP. you will find me doing my volunteer job in the shop on board. I like to meet our members face to face!. Unfortunately I cant be at the Medway queen event as my joining time has been changed from the evening sailing to the morning. look forward to meeting you. Regards, walter.

Chris, if you do go to the MQ ceremony, could you get me an EXTRA LARGE Meadway Queen SWEATER SHIRT in navy blue (or any other colour if not) if they have any. I will pay you on board Waverley on the evening cruise. Thanks. This is not desperate but it would be nice to have one!. Regards, Walter

Hi Walter
Would love to come along. Could you tell me the sailing times (or where I can get the information) please. I am only 12 miles up the road and favour the Sunday trip.

Unfortunately their time tables seem to start on July 16th.
I'll asume a start time of 10 oclock onwards as Walter has given this as launch time.
Anyone else going next week?
Cheers

Sure is. She was heading to Ilfracombe with around 100 on today I understand. Yesterday numbers were better though.
