Ya,not a whole lot of water around here but what little is here its nice to have.I have just aquired a lathe, dril press, ect and am into motors and engines.
My self and my dad have built a 32 ft sailboat, and i and my wife have been around boats most of our lives.I would like to make one of those hit and miss engines.I used to have one of those model steam engines when i was young.
My wife likes the radio control boats so im going to look around here. She grew up in Wisconsin on the river.
I own my own construction remodeling company and i work with wood all the time.I have table saws,routers,ect..
I hope to find some interesting people and projects for boats, and motors.

Hello Buck
What`s a ..."hit and miss engine"...?

I believe it's a type of stationary engine (internal combustion) which only admits fuel and fires when the flywheel speed drops below a specified RPM - so it fires more often when driving a load than when it's 'idling' - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zC3ti3Fj-NI&feature=related

Hello MJT
I thought it might be............I`ve seen them at the farmers shows...............but not really suitable for a boat?

I wouldn't use one for a boat, they seem to be single cylinder (so no easy way to reverse) but they're interesting machines all the same, might be a good project to build one...
