Title: Dumas Delta Queen build

I've been working on this project off and on for two years and thought I'd share some pictures of the build. I have never built anything like this before so its been learn as I go.
The steam plant is done and installed before any of the superstructure was built so I could make some alterations as I went. I changed and simplified the exhaust flue to a single stack. Way too much trouble to make a double like the plans call for. Also I changed the layout on the skylight deck and pilot house to reflect the passage of the stack through the decks. Its been fun....most of the time!!

Nice build, so far. But why did you gear the steam engine down?
That Saito should be powerful enough for a 1:1 drive to the paddlewheel.

I geared it down to make it run smoother per advice given me here a couple of years ago

Also consider the fact that the faster you let it turn, the quicker it will wear out. One advantage of steam engines over other types is that they have good power at low rpm, you don't need to rev them fast.

Doesn't your engine run reliable at low rpm?
