Title: Maid of Ashton
Post by: dgp1957 on March 06, 2009, 08:52:50 PM
Guys
I apologise as this is not a paddler query, but has anyone any pics of the Maid of Ashton, either model or real thing?

I built a model of the MAID OF ASHTON at 5/16" to the foot and it appeared in an edition of MODEL BOATS magazine last year (can't remember which month) but my plans are available from that magazine's plans catalogue.
Since that vessel served my home village, I knew it quite well        Sandy Thomson

Thanks Sandy, I have a set of plans from one of the lads at the club Gordon Fraser, he gave me the hull and plans to try and build, I will check out the Model Boats site for the plans to see if they are the same as mine.

I have a Maid of Argyll from Phil Thomas's plans - available through the X-List site I think. These are accurate plans taken directly off the originals. I put a small article together for Marine Modelling a few years ago. I've attached a couple of pictures below.
