An interesting article submitted by MikeR C.
"Power and Machinery Employed in Manufacturing" Published by The Department of the Interior (USA), published in 1888. This section from the above named article is on "Steamers of the Mississippi Valley" the section is not all complete just the parts on engines, it runs to about 13 pages.
