I would like to build a working model of hms lightning but there is very little information available can any body help

Try contacting the Maritime Museum Greenwich they can probably give you a lot of information or point you in the right direction.

Good luck with NMM, Darren. While I cannot fault them for their service and help in the past -and I have been very grateful for it - they will not GIVE you anything. What they will do is seperate you from considerable amounts of hard-earned cash.

Hi,
That looks like the "1823 model" so if you look in Paddle Warships 1815-1850 by DK Brown,(1993 Conway) pp 10+ (and index) you will find a deck plan, lines and partial body, internal profile for Alban (same class) as well as statistics and such. That should get you going and you have a photo of a model so you're almost home free.
