Title: New Zealand steam launches
Post by: Roderick Smith on November 13, 2008, 12:35:17 PM
These are less relevant for Eddy's search for a prototype, so I am placing them here.
SL Puke has been illustrated in the Research forum.
These two were running on a farm at Glenbrook (60 km south of Auckland) over a major Mar.02 celebration for the 30th anniversary of Glenbrook Vintage Railway.  All sorts of steam and vintage machinery was assembled, including vehicles, tractors, traction engines and horse ploughs; Tiger Moths made joyflights.  Over Easter 1972, I had been on the memorable steam tour from Wellington to Auckland, delivering two J or Ja locos from South Island to GVR; I just had to be back for this anniversary.

Enclosed: SL Gypsy and SL Romany.
