Title: MV Italie-2013
Post by: PaddleWheel on October 27, 2008, 06:40:44 AM
Hi all,

Just found out that the MV/exPS Italie is to be converted back to steam in time for the 2013 season. Italie was opened for the first time since she was withdrawn on the CGN dockyard open-day. Then, Rhone came and docked alongside her the the fficial llaunching. Savoie is operating an evening dinner fundraising cruise on 30th October to kick-start the fundraising.

Are you sure she is being converted back to steam/

I can't see anything about that on the ABVL website

One of the engineers on Simplon said to my Dad that they were pushing to have it steam and were winning...don't know the outcome of it though. Whatever happens at least there will be only one depressing site of a laid-up paddler in Ouchy.
