Hello All
I am an artist living in Los Angeles. I am researching a new sculpture I want to make which is essentially going to be a large model sternwheeler (3x7 feet) which I want to power with steam. I was happy to discover this website as it seems you have a wealth of information about functioning paddle wheel models.
Cheers

Hi Pentti,
Good to see you've joined us here at Paddleducks, and I hope your first posting wasn't quite a daunting as you first thought?
A sculptor has to be a new twist for us, so I hope we can help with your project? I'd be very interested to see photos as the work progresses - And don't be afraid to ask questions, we don't bit honest! :)
Regards

Hi Eddy,
Your directions on posting a message were very clear Thank you. I've been checking out the website and allready downloaded the "King of the River- steam engine test run on bench" video, which is exactly what I want to make, except about twice as big.
Is there a pre fab engine that can be used in that situation? I would be capable of soldering the tubing, but I dont have a lathe or a milling machine.
I also wondered, do the two engines have to be synchronized in turning the wheel or do they just sort themselves out?
I figured I would deal with the engine first and the design the ship around that.
Thank you so much for your hospitality

Topic split and the last couple of posts moved to the "Live Steam" message area, as it was drifting onto specific steam engine questions.
That isn't a critiscism of anyone - it just makes it easier to find the information at a later date.
