Hi, just a quick introduction. I've been setting up a workshop over the past year and been looking for a project. It didn't cross my mind to think of a steamer or steamer engine - although it should have earlier as I have always been interested in model boats. Anyway, this looks like an interesting site / forum group. So hope to keep talking.

Welcome to Paddleducks...

Although we're primarily a group interested in modelling paddlers, we do seem to be attracting a large following of people who are interested in steam engines - We'll do our best to convert you all into model boaters and put those engines to some real use! ;)

Of course, we will always try to help wherever we can, but we don't claim to have answers to every question....

Hi Phil,

What part of Shrewsbury? I used to live just down the road in Shawbury for a few years, and make it back there fairly often.

Model boats and steam go together like strawberries and cream. Most enjoyable.

Steam projects for model boats?  I could most probably keep you working in your workshop for a few years.
