Just wondering, what does everyone think about this...

...using Paintshop Pro, I've lengthened the hull by about 40%. I'd quite like to make one of these and actually make the hull longer like this (but seeing how much time my present projects are taking, best not to start anything new just yet...)

I like the idea Mick - Always liked the Princess Elizabeth. Bob Golder, one of my fellow clubmates (and a Paddleducker) has one.

I've seen a couple of these models at shows and they didn't look quite right to me (I'm sure the builders are not at fault as they both looked exactly the same - and like the one in the paddler day 2008 photos) The ship used to be berthed in London as a bar/restaurant and seemed very long and low with the paddlewheel more or less in the centre, which is why I tried lengthening one in the photo above. Here is one of the very few pics I took before the ship was removed...

It's quite possible that the model is incorrect Mick - It's made from flat styrene sheet, so perhaps the designer changed dimensions to allow the use of small easily available sheets?
I agree that the stretched version does look a lot more like the real thing.....

Mick, i am pretty certain that there is a reasonable plan in the down loads from Model boats in the 60s or 70s. I have had this blown up to 48th scale and yes - she has a long shallow hull. Blown up that plan looks pretty accurate. I have had the plan of the Gracie Fields blown up too and she looks very nice!). Regards, Walter

Hmmm, I didn't find a plan in the downloads section, must dig out my copy of Hambletons 'Famous Paddlesteamers' I'm sure there were some details in there...if I can remember where I put it...
I gave in to temptation and made this though :P

....now I've painted it the correct colours (well, most of it) and made the top of the funnel and the windows the way they seem to look in pictures and the video 'Paddle Parade vol 1'....
