Hi All, I'm new to the site and new to paddlers, I usually leave them to my Dad's fleet of Clyde Steamers!
I'm a member of the Edinburgh Model boat club and as most of the other members know I tend to choose subjects that are either simply unusual or downright weird!
Anyway, my paddler is a 1/144th stand-off scale model of training aircraft carrier USS Wolverine circa 1943. She's under construction and a variety of mistakes will be completely hidden by the fact that most people's reaction will be "what on earth is that?!?!?" as opposed to telling me about the number of rivets I've missed! ;)
If it works maybe I'll finally try HMS Aristocrat in 1/72nd (I've had the Talisman plans for years).
I'll see you guys around..............

It's great to have you with us Doug, welcome to Paddleducks....
Andrew Gray has told me all about your model, and keeps promising to send me photographs, so hopefully he'll get his finger out and send em! :hehe
The Wolverine is a model I've always fancied having a go at, but with that large flat top it's not the easiest subject for a working model of a paddler - I'm really looking forward to seeing how you get on with it, and how it performs....
So with that in mind, jump into the "Construction" forum and tell us a bit about her please.
Regards
Eddy

Hello Doug and welcome. I am a newbie to paddlers and this forum myself. I am glad to hear there is much more interest in these unique craft than I am aware of. I am also excited to see this project of yours.

Hi Doug,
Welcome aboard, I'm a newbie too but it is a great site with lots of banter and comment. Folks on here take an interest in what you have to say and problems you may have.
I always say, 'Maximise the joy and minimise the pain, 'cos time aint for sale!'
All the best, Fred Graham
