I took off on Tuesday 10th June with the girlfriend(Mel) and eglish friend (Pete). Stopped at Swan Hill to look at Gem, Euston too see Canally, still under water, Mildura Lock11 see PV Risbey pass thru to tie up before the weir was dropped and PS Melbourne coming back up on her afternoon trip, then onto Renmark.
Wednesday 11th, went to the Renmark info centre, 'Dads army' were onboard the Argo barge so they invited us on for a look, then we look onboard PS Industry, then onto Lock4 and looked at the remains of barges Achilles and Ajax, then Bunyip barge at Berri. Then onto Cobdogla to the Steam and Irrigation Museum, it was closed but a couple of fellas working on the diesel loco invited us in to look at the Humprey pumps, and also at PS Roy and plenty of steam machinary. Stopped at Waikerie and had lunch beside PV Murray River Queen, Morgan and looked over the wharf, wrecks of PS Corowa and Crowie barge were partically sticking out, didn't have time to get to Bryants creek. Blanchetown to see Lock 1 but couldn't get up close to PV Incredible. Mannum and looked over PS Tarella and PV Fender Himmel, PV Eliza Ann.
Thursday 12th Mannum info centre and onboard PS Marion. Murray Bridge, went for a trip on PV Captain Proud, passed the Ukee barge on the riverbank. Then went up and looked at PS Colonel and PS Cato, the boat wrecks under the bridges and wharf weren't visible even tho the river was down, also looked onboard PV Madam Jade.
Milangand checked out the jetty, the water was at the very end of it!
Then onto Goolwa via Clayton, over to Hindmarsh Island, couldn't get to PV Killawarra, then to the marina where PS William Randell was, just came off the slip. Then went and looked at the Radia barge wreck.
Friday 13th went to Goolwa wharf where a second attempt was being made to raise the Dart barge, using the old ferry. Went and looked at PS Renmark remains, which were just showing. Then PV Goolwa, Alice and Federal.
Then looked at the remains of PS Captain sturt, and what I'm told the Uranus barge which is used in the marina for boat moorings.
Then headed home, over Wellington ferry, PV Mayflower was tied up at the mouth of the marina. Stayed at Kingston SE then home Saturday 14th.
Will attach some photo's of Canally, Argo barge and the Dart barge, which I got off Pete, untill I get the camera from the girl so I can attach heaps more photo's
