Title: MODELS IN TUG BOAT MUSEUM, HOLLAND
Post by: Walter Snowdon on April 25, 2008, 06:22:07 PM
Hi folks, on my recent visit to the Dortmund Model show, a groyup of us took the opportunity to visit the tugboat museum at MAASSLUIS about 14 kilometres from Rotterdam. What a gem that place is! a lovely little ton based on numerous canals with a little maritime museum to die for. The building Lovely 15th? century is beside a canal basin on which there are numerous preserved tugs but the Museum itself, boy oh boy! It is entirely run by volunteers and is an absolute treasure.According to one of the organisers they have over 500 high class models which they change on display every 5 months! I stopped counting at over 80 models in the current display!. I will be posting more on this topic later when I get my head round it. I spent the day there and only scraped the surface. Anyone going to Holland MUST visit this museum. Regards, Walter.
