Hi all.....
Randy (dinosaursoupman) asked:
Eddy, I was wondering if there is an easy way to present a break down (i.e. pie chart) of the membership's region of residence? Starting perhaps with Junior members on since there are a lot of Newbies that register and that's the last their heard of again? I know that there are a lot of other more pressing issues in your life right now so I don't want to place any extra burden upon you, just curious.

I can't do a simple pie chart Randy - But I have added a map where users can put a pin into the map to show their location. You can view it by clicking on "Member Locations" from the main menu on the left...
Two minor problems with it - First, each user needs to manually enter their location on the map. And second, you may find you have to refresh your browsers cache for it to work properly (Ctrl+F5 in Internet Explorer).

Hello Eddy and PD's,
I like it!
Thanks,
Randy the Dinosaur Soup Man

Oh one more thing..... Guests and Newbie members cannot enter a pin on the map....
Glad you like it Randy :)

Hello all, dumbfounded is the least of my worries. I looked up the UK map to mark my location and guess what....... it isn't there I had to go to the Europe map page to locate my archipleago. Not to worry I had someone on the phone this week saying yes we service Scotland but which city is Shetland nearest to? I was sorely tempted to say Oslo in Norway.
cheers
Jim

Hello Jim and other PD's,
If that isn't enough of an insult Jim, have you ever tried to Google Earth Shetland? They don't even provide an aeriel photo of the islands. If you Google my location you can even see my work truck parked out in front of the house!

Just in case you haven't noticed, you can click on any of the usernames below the map, and their pin will flash to show where they are....
-
...mmmmmmmmmmmmm... :porkies......how many times do you need to refresh the browser? :breakcomp...but now that :respect OZ flag shows OK :hehe
-
works fine for New Zealand - ;D
brilliant Eddy

OK PD's....... :breakcomp ..who is playing games here with my PC? :ranting
1) The Duck has returned to the left hand side of the page
2) Randy = a blue pin dot
3) Moritz = a green pin dot
4) Kiwi = a blue pin dot
5) Eddy & Malcom & Oldie = a green pin dot
6) Red = a green pin dot
7) Hans = a green pin dot
8) Peter W, Roderick S & dw = a green pin dot
:goodluck :hehe :nahnah :towel :nono :sorry...and all since I pressed ALT+F5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
As usual, I think there's something wrong with your computer Derek, either that or operator error :whistle
Randy, kiwi, oldie, and me are all blue dots
Everyone else (at the moment) is green
The colors are determined by your gender in your profile. gender not set, male, female. So if your pin is green, edit your profile to set you gender.
Oh, pressing Alt+F5 wouldn't do much, I hope you actually pressed Ctrl+F5 :)

"Red_Hamish said he found the Shetlands on the Europe page, not the UK one."
You think you got problems Jim, I go look for my part of the World (Australasia) and find New Zealand is now implied as the 8th state of Australia. (they wish).

When you go to the listing for Canada, it shows 3, Myself, Bill Hudson, gretzschel, I think the last two are still in the US. or have I missed a takeover? I just notices when you do the US it shows 4 with me listed with those Yanks ( do we have to fight the war of 1812 again)
Regards,
Gerald

If you look at the map carefully Gerald, you'll see it contains part of northern USA - So yes they are shown, but in the USA, not Canada....
-
Ok, I think the whole thing is a GRAND IDEA.

Hi PD's....& a quote from Eddy.........
The colors are determined by your gender in your profile. gender not set, male, female. So if your pin is green, edit your profile to set you gender
Are you suggesting if I am still green that I have an undecided gender? :hehe :yeahbaby :sunglasses :nahnah
:thinking...NZ may as well be the 8th State of OZ....as there are more KIWI's in OZ than are left in those little Islands across the ditch :shhh
-
Yep, they's our advanced force, getting ready for our future takeover of oz. OZ will then be the 2nd to 8th states of New Zealand. Canberra will then be the retirement home for Helen and co, leaving us to get on with our quiet life of paddling in the pond.
Eddy the maps are great, you done well.

Hey Eddy, I've just "pinged" your location on the map. Have you moved offshore for tax purposes??? or perhaps you're starting offshore IC racing??

Hey Bob, you've known me long enough now to realise that I'm loaded - More money than I know what to do with! :)
But of course there's no way I'm going to give it to the government in taxes, hence the move offshore...... That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!! :sunglasses The dark glasses are to maintain anonimity....

When you go to the page to place your pin, the one with crosshairs to mark the cursor position, press Ctrl+F5 to refresh your browsers cache.... Then it should work fine.

Thank you Eddy
I was trying to click the mouse. Didn't know about cross hairs.
Cheers...Ken
