Title: Another one for Walter
Post by: sandystrone on January 29, 2008, 10:18:51 AM
Bet you haven't got a pennant like this!
Found this photo from 1982 with the real "JEANIE DEANS" name pennant.
A friend of mine worked in Lamonts yard where JD was overhauled and this flag just happened to go missing!

Thanks for the memory Sandy.  "JEANNIE" was always my favourite paddler, even in her last working year when she had the Clyde pouring in through ill fitting paddle box hatches and we all had wet feet while watching the engines.

Hi Sandy. Trust the Scots to go one-upmanship! I have pennants from PS WAVERLEY and Balmoral in my collection, Plus a PSPS houseflag and Balmorals Welsh flag .  i am hoping to eventualy complete the "set" with a Kingswear Castle pennant should one become available. We use them As table covers at displays- they certainly  add colour and interest for spectators. Darlington club has quite a variety of house flags and national colours. For instance, when we display warship models,  they are on a very large WW2 battle ensign from Heavy cruiser HMS NEWCASTLE plus a battle ensign from a WW2 MTB. Beat that then!!!!.  If Jeannies pennant comes available, let me know!!. Regards, Walter.
