Title: Flying with two wings

Just thought I would let my good friends on here know that I haven't forgotten them, I call in every day, usually when you are still in the land of nod (UK only), and still inwardly digest all the info.

Have just undergone my remedial orthopaedic surgery on my right wing. After four years I have got the use back into all the fingers on my right hand, not very strong, but at least I can move them. The shoulder will take a lot longer, the muscles have to be built up again (bonecutters reckon on 4 to 6 months), before a diagnosis on effect can be given. The only pain I can feel from that area is surgery pain, so in my mind it will get better. So it is a matter of taking it very easy for the time being.

So expect me back with a vengeance and new ideas when I get airborne again.

Great news John - I'm glad to hear the surgery went well.... Having been through three lots of spinal surgey myself I know the post operative pain can be severe for a while, but it's amazing how quick it settles down, and a month or so down the line your wondering what all the fuss was about! ;)

1) so what do you want? another ream of paper & a few 1/2 worn out [borrowed] stolen pens........
2) is Bandit enrolled in Y2 at the Dogs university?
3) will Vinnie be continuing with HIS art classes?, is so I should send two reams of paper

Anyway...the real point of the posting.........very glad to get the good news & hope additional time will heal more....John

Derek,

I wondered how soon the Oz brigade would appear, and stick their 'sunshine in our winter' digit in the pie.

I will most probably be able to use all that paper, the numbers of ideas I have banging around in my empty space is astonishing even myself.

I have travelled all over in the last few months, getting ideas to solve all sorts of problems.

I have even made some human powered engines, of the type Derek would have on his executive desk, in his air conditioned, sunshine filled office.

But please remember, this was before I could get my brain cell and fingers into sync.

Both Bandit and Vinnie have finished their studies (7 years to our one).

Bandit lectures to street dogs on how to divide bones up using geometry, to get the best number of crunches per inch (25.4mm).
Vinnie I am sad to say, has fallen by the wayside, and fell in with the wrong crowd of mogs, they ambush pedigree dogs and hold them for ransom, always said he had a mean streak in him. But I suppose it saves us having to feed him. He still does art, but usually in the form of a ransom demand.

Joking aside, I would like to thank you all for the well wishes, and when the boss allows me back in the shop, I will be producing again. Slowly at first.

Good to hear John , hopefully it won't be toolong before the leash is  released and your back in yur natral element "the shop".  Keep at it the Physio-terrorists can be a pain but are worth their weight in gold when they do their magic on you.

I love the finish on the bases of the finger engines, it looks like its engine burnishing an I right?

It is basic engine turning, took about two hours for each one, it all depends on pattern and spacing as to how long it takes. For a complicated one, 4 to 5 hours.
