Post by: mjt60a on January 12, 2008, 09:03:48 PM
saw this in january's Model Boats...
http://www.ivorbittle.co.uk/   it's interesting reading (if a bit technical) part 3 ( http://www.ivorbittle.co.uk/Front%20page%20for%20Section%203%20with%20compresssed%20graphics.htm ) for those of us into live steam!
Still waiting for part 8 - The Model Paddlewheel!

....Still waiting for part 8 - The Model Paddlewheel....
of course this was from 4 years ago and I have read about the model paddlewheel....seems to make sense and is about half of the reason my 'princess elizabeth' has six floats not eight..... the other half of the reason is that I used eight float wheels on the (as yet un-named) tug and saw what I believed to be a practical demonstration of what he says in the article (why he used only five floats!)
