Title: Model Railroader Magazine
Post by: tonyh on October 27, 2007, 04:00:58 AM
Anyone interested in Model railways?

Came across an item in Daily Telegraph 25/10/07. Model Railroader magazine have been allowed to photograph 'Rod Stewarts' model railway layouts. The photo in the newspaper shows his 'New York Grand Central Station' layout in the 1940's, scale 1:87. It is housed in his 'Beverley Hills' house, and comprises 100ft of track, scores of period locomotives, carriages skyscraper's and advertising hoardings.

The largest train station in the world has 44 platforms, 67 tracks, a caverous concourse with a clock on the front of the station which is the largest example of Tiffany Glass in the world.

According to the newspaper he has been better known for his collection of beautiful women. Perhaps he asked them back to admire his shunting. If the women in life think his hobby is a little 'anoracky' he has always been able to escape to his home in Essex where he keeps a railway set - a layout of the old English East Coast Line.
