Title: Medway Queen
Post by: lenknight on May 11, 2007, 08:22:23 PM
The local branch of the Association of "Woodturners" of Great Britain, had offered, and have indeed turned the old Main Mast of the Medway Queen, that is past restoration, into many desirable objects. These will be offered for sale, to ensure the maximum income for our restoration project.
We thank these dedicated people for all their hard work, which is for a society other than their own, that has produced such outstanding results.

The woodturning sounds interesting Len - Kent is a bit far to travel for me, but if there are items left that you still want to sell after the sale, please let me know - We would be perfectly happy for you to advertise them on Paddleducks.

You never know, some of our members may be interested in purchasing them to help with the preservation work on the old girl.
Title: Articles from Medway Queen's mast

Hello Eddy,
Thanks for offer to advertise the articles that may be left over from sale, which I assume will be. I am not sure how many were turned out from the mast, but venture to say about 100, all various shapes and sizes, from lamp standards right down to pens.
I will get back when I have more positive info on the position.
Regards Len. :D
