Title: Introducing John Tybjerg
Post by: Buccaneer on February 23, 2007, 07:42:49 AM
Hello,
I started model ship building about 30 years ago, mostly static models. As retirement nears I have started model making again after a break of about 15 years but have now moved into RC, with a preference for working boats. It may be a 'couple of years' before I am up to a paddler as I feel I need a couple of conventional boats under my belt first to make the move to a boat that floats and moves.

My earliest memory of a paddler is crossing the Bristol Channel on the Glen Usk out of Western Super Mare (I believe) when I was about 7 or 8.
I found your site through a Google search for details of the Lingdale after seeing a wonderful model of it in the latest Model Boats.

In the meantime I'll look and learn.

John

It's good to have you with us John, and thanks for taking the time to introduce yourself...

If you've built static models before, you probably already have the basic knowledge needed to construct a working model boat - Just a few "extras" to get your head round, such as drive system, suitable motors, radio control etc etc.

As always, we're here to help whenever we can, so never be afraid to ask if there's something we can give advice or help on. Remember that the only "silly" question is the one you don't ask! :)
