Title: Woolwich paddle ferries.
Post by: Walter Snowdon on January 21, 2007, 05:42:41 AM
Came across some interesting model photos, (Shipyard half model) of the river Thames free ferries Duncan and Gordon. The web site is very interesting with a lot of models in good photos.

 Web adress is:    www.vallejogallery.com

When the page comes up click on model ships then page 12. Click on the image and several close-up thumbnails will appeer.

All the pages of models are well worth looking at.
Regards, Walter.

So they were originally built with no wheel house/bridge?

having read this I was expecting to see (for example) the 'John Benn' originally built without wheelhouse and maybe other differences ... but no, these are much older ships, I didn't realise there were paddle ferries there as long ago as that!
