Hi PD's & couldn't but notice the  :kewl image 926 from Walter this morning.....

Not so much the electric motor & reduction, but the very interesting & detailed feathering wheel structure & wooden floats etc....looks most life like

Will/would you tell please :hammer  tell us more on this Walter :?: ......regards Derek

Hi Derek, I took the photograph At Dortmund model show Last year. The wheel is produced by a specialist model boat company in Germany using jewellers style lost wax casting in BRONZE. They produce a vast range of cast fittings but boy, the prices! you would need to remortgage to buy all the fittings for a model !!. the kit for the paddle set is about 900euros (£700 Sterling?) add another 100 euros if you want them assembled. I will be visiting their stand again in April if you want any further information.  Regards, Walter.

Hullo & shock horror, no matter how realistic the feathering paddle set is.....& thanks Walter....but one thousand EURO  :sob ....is a little short of my weekly spending $ allowance

Interestingly, for the past six months I have been communicating with the German manufacturer 'Miebach of Dortmund' re a potential purchase for AUD$1.5M for the steel indusrty here in OZ        - regards Derek

Hullo Walter....I have tried numerous COOGLE  :computer searches on variations of

German_lost wax casting_paddlewheels in_ BRONZE

The closest find was "Atelier-MB" a Swiss company that uses the same process for model train wheel sets  :rant

Do you know the name of the 'specialist model boat company in Germany'  :?: .....Derek  :D

Hi PD's,

i saw these wheels last year at the Friedrichshafen models show, the company who sell they is "Elde Modellbau" this company produces a wide range of fittings but every thing is expensive there :( .

I was also shocked about the price, maybe you can ask for the price without the tax this would save 19%  but still expensive.

Kind regards Hans
