I don't know Danish :shhh , so I have no idea what he was saying :darn ! But the shoots were great :terrific  especially the boiler and engine room :yeah  :trophy . wish there were more :sob . How many of us have a Hjejlen kit, :thinking  built :trophy , parially built :luck  or unbuilt :shhh ? My first boat kit was a Dumas Hjejlen, (still unfinished :shhh  :darn   ) and I have one unbuilt kit :great  with fittings :news  ,which I will probably build having learned all the mistakes  :rant  :sorry trying to build the first one (plus 40 years  :hmph more experience  ).
Regards,
Gerald :sunglasses

Great video clip Lars, thanks for the link.  She looks alittle fragile with that narrow beam, certainly wouldn't last long on the Clyde.

Hi Bob and Gerald  :beer

Well, I tried to build the Billing Boats Hjejlen some 20-30 years ago - but failed completely  :oops
This summer my family and I visited Silkeborg.  Certainly, my son and I we decided to restart the effort. Since he is just 4 years old, he works mainly as my construction supervisor :hmph . Unfortunately the kit was butchered by me over the years, so it has to be build completely from scratch - using only the plan, the hull as a master, and lots of photos. This time the hull will be made of grp showing the exceptional but typical clinker-type plating of Hjejlen and a way slimmer keel. I will try some brass etching on the paddle wheels - hope it works :luck .

Gerald, you mentioned a Dumas kit of Hjejlen. Is this another one?

Bob, you are absolutely right, she is a little fragile even on the very calm waters of Silkeborg - she certainly would have some problems at the Clyde. But it was a real pleasure, enjoying her gentle rolling in the warm summer evening  :vacat

My best wishes to Toronto and Marton,
Lars

The guy is mostly making a sales speach for making You hire Hjejlen and her sisters for the next company trip - bring your own drinks, food and have a party. Then some facts like age, original engine etc. some 40000 guests gets the pleasure of live steam paddling each season.

Real nice film, thanks.
