Title: What's happening? Automatic repeat posting of messages!
Post by: Brian on November 17, 2006, 08:59:02 AM
Is there a valid reason why the PD member "steamyacht" should continue to submit a cryptic message for so many times?

The first time that "steamyacht" did this he/she removed/hid a posting for a while each time that he/she repeated their message.

If his/her actions's do not have a valid reason - then this member should be "named and shamed" (in “blair-speak”) and forbidden to post any item.

Apart from cluttering up this forum with a massage consisting of the words
[messaggio di irreperibilità  vuoto]
it increments the count of messages, and is thus way to get promotion of rank by cheating.

So it seems that the Paddleducks website has their own VIRUS who hides behind the name of steamyacht - - - - -
PS It seems that the repeating messages have NOW been removed! But The VIRUS "steamyacht" seems to have struck again . . . . .

I can understand the frustration Brian, but please don't be too quick to judge.... He may have a virus on his system that is causing the problem, or umpteen other causes, none of which are a deliberate act on his part.

I've deleted the messages concerned....

After further investigation, the messages are coming in via our email system - Nothing at all to do with Henri (steamyacht).

It appears that one of the spammers/hackers may have found a security loophole in the email software - I've reported it to the authors, but if the problem gets worse I will have no choice other than to delete the software.

I apologise to everyone that takes the messages on Paddleducks via email, as that means you will have to log on to the forum to read and reply to messages, but if this gets worse (as I expect) I have no other choice...

If that situation arises I'll email those concerned...

Further to my last message, we are now running a new version of the email subscription software which has hopefully cured the problem.

Although the messages are still being sent, they are now blocked so they should never appear on the forum.
