Hi Guys,
Now that we've moved servers and aren't limited by the space and bandwidth we use, I've now added a Download Manager.... You can access it by clicking on "Downloads" from either the main menu, or from the link at the top of the forum pages.
Over the next week or so I'll add all the magazine articles and other stuff that our users have submitted to Paddleducks, so hopefully you'll be able to find things quicker and easier than trawling through all the messages in the forum.
The reason for a download manager rather than just putting everything onto a normal webpage that you can click on is twofold - Firstly it allows us to control who has access to the files so the ever present WebBots can't grab everything, and secondly it allows us to easily control what is available so we don't end up with the porn merchants putting all sorts of rubbish onto the site.
But, as atated above, it will take us a little while to transfer everything across - So please be patient for a few days while we get it sorted...

Thanks Eddy -looks like a useful tool

I've managed to get almost all of the magazine articles onto the Download Manager - they should be completed later today.
You can access them by clicking on "Downloads" from either the main menu, or from the links at the top of the message forum...
Hopefully it should make it a lot easier to find what you want and grab it! :)
Over the next few days I'll get all the steam engine plans and articles listed, so with a bit of luck everything will be there by the weekend.

I've made a start on the steam engine stuff, but to be honest I'm running out of steam (pun intended!). So I'll leave things for a few days whilst I take a break from it all, and get back onto it by the weekend...
I'm afraid it's a long winded pain in the backside whenever I have to move a large amount of stuff around like this - But I hope you'll all agree it was worth it in the end?
Even Walter Snowdon, a fellow clubmate, and admitted computer illiterate agrees that it's easier to find things, so I must be doing something right - Hopefully? ;)

All the steam engine plans are now online, only the steam articles to do now to complete the task...

Hi PD's & :bravo Eddy - I found a listing under Downloads>>>Steam Engines>>>Rope Drive>>> that I had missed even though I log :rant on at least twice per day
I think in this day & age, five 1/16" diameter o-rings between reduction pulleys would be OK & have a snap on hand to authenticate the design
Clearly lots of :computer work by you - thanks :bow & regards Derek

Hi all,
Okay, all the articles we currently have are now online in the Download Manager. We hope to start adding more over the next few weeks - Now that the summer is over for those of us up in the northern hemisphere it's time to start digging around again and see what we can come up with...
-
One thing I forgot to mention about the downlaod manager we've installed, if anyone has any videos they want to put up for people to download, jsut send them to me at admin@paddleducks.co.uk and I'll put them online - We're no longer limited to the 2Mb limit that exists on the forum or the photo gallery.
My email inbox is currently set at 20Mb, so please keep any videos below that - or let me know in advance and I can increase that limit.

Added some more interesting articles to the Download Manager - This time some Czech articles complete with plans for the Bohemia, Lanna (1890 paddletug), Robert E Lee, and Vltava...
As daft as it sounds, you'll find them in the "Unknown" folder! :)
