Title: Re Skype
Post by: Peter Webster on October 11, 2006, 05:14:42 PM
This is similar to another system I was using last year and it is a good system but are we going to get a list of member log ons or user names so we can contact each other.

Hi PD's - Peter I attempted to upload/download & install the SKYPE as Eddy referenced

Result was that my PC locked up - I copied the error message to Print Screen then to Paint & have post it back in our PD forum, but it won't register/transmit

The file size when checked is 2.25 MB which is over our limit

Best I just sit back & wait & see

Oh BTW, what brand & type of OZ bread do you use for your scrumptious VEGEMITE sangers :?:  :?:  :?: - my current preference is "Noble Rise Multi Grain" & complete with "Olive Grove Marg" + Twinings 'English Breakfast tea bag' [in the tea cup I mean]  :terrific  - Derek

Derek,
I have had no trouble in downloading the skype software but was hesitant to check it out by calling Eddy at midday today with the time difference. As to the type of bread I have it is usually a nice hard crust Vienna but it must be fresh. I never use teabags except at work, they don't know any better as they are all coffee guzzlers, the tea I use is usually Twinings Earl Grey but of late I've been drinking Tetleys in the plastic case but never teabags at home.

The filesize for Skype is more than 12Mb Derek, I assume your host places some sort of limit on the size of files you can download? If that's the case I'm afraid your stuck, unless someone else can download it for you and give you a copy on CD?
Title: Skype Log on Names
Post by: Peter Webster on October 11, 2006, 09:55:13 PM
Eddy,
Re the log on names, would it be possible to keep a list on the forum that only bona fide members could access. I know it is more work for you but without these names you cannot access anyone using skype.

 Derek,
I tried copy the system to a cd  The file says SkypeSetup and is 12.541 meg if you email me I will arrange a copy to be mailed to you.

As requested, I've setup a new forum for users to list their Skype handles Peter - This forum is only viewable by registered users, guests cannot view the messages.

Thanks for doing this Eddy I had concocted a convoluted way of doing this but your way, as is so often the case, is so much easier.

cheers

I'll explain it when I see you on saturday Walter.... Steam radio is fine, but steam computers tend to give you a soggy keyboard which isn't good!
