Hi PD's & a little :offtopic but Jim , I see you are also a member of the Edinburgh Model Boat Club.....
I posted a question to the EMBC WEB site administrator a few months back [without reply] :rant .....asking if I could get in contact with the owner the :bravo version of a Victorian steam launch as per of Gallery 13
Do you know this person :?: , if so could you please forward on this communication as there are a few  questions re the GAZ system I would like to ask about - Derek :)
Hello all, Derek , yes I know whose launch this is and I must say that the photo is quite an old one, possibly even as much as ten years out of date. This beautiful launch is owned and was built by the venerable Alan Johnstone of Longniddry in East Lothian. It really is a beauty and sails impeccably, Alan is quite model engineer with some fantastically crafted boats to his name. We do not meet up often over the summer months as he is also involved in Classic & Vintage Car & Motorcycle shows. However in saying that it is the end of season sail coming up a week today and he usually tries to attend both start & end sail-ins. If I see him I'll let him know of your particular interest and failing this I'll get his contact details for you from the club treasurer or secretary.
cheers
Jim

Jim's right about the owner & builder. He is an expert modelmaker who wa srecently involved in restoration work on the Concorde that is at the East Fortune Museum of Flight. Branksholm was totally scratch built right down to the rivets and the kettle! Sails beautifully too. Alan unfortunately is not on the internet so contacting him is difficult although he does attend the majority of our regattas.
I am sorry about the lack of response to the message Derek sent - but it didn't reach me as it should have - sorry Derek! Some glitch in the forwarding system that I'll need to look at. I'll speak with Alan and see if there is some other way he can be contacted.
