Hello Members,
discovered your web site, fantastic,I live in Victoria Australia and i am in the process of designing and building my own paddle steamer,a model has been built to see her lines and how she floats and the engine will be larger copy of the version of my current project which is a three quater size steam lorry.
In australia alot of murry paddle boats were old barges fitted out with portable steam engines and a super stucture built around them.
A picture of lorry engine and boiler maybe of intrest.
Once again a great site has been very helpful
                                                                   Cheers Anthony

Great to see another ozzie in here we are slowly getting bigger lol.
Is she going to be a sternwheeler or sidewheeler like the good ones on the murray.

She;d have to be a sidewheeler. How big will your boat be? I'm also building a paddler...maybe we could race some day! For more details on my boat look on the construction board.

Welcome to the team mate, and us aussies will show them how paddle boating is done! Bring on the SNAGS nd I don't mean the ones you put on the barbie and I don't mean the doll!

...for those who have noted it I edited my post, how could I say sternwheeler...it's like a swearword!

g'day all
She will only be a little paddle boat compared to most ,somewhere under 40 feet and to answer your question it will be a sidewheeler....A couple more months and the wagon should be finished.........And the engine and boiler fired up for the first time this weekend...fingers crossed........once done the hull will be started...
If your paddle boat is up on the murry your more than welcome to a race!
             Cheers Anthony :D

hmmm yeh but let's remember my boat is soemthing like 16 feet! I flipped her just the other day and started cleaning the inside...and I'm annoyed- we're going to have to scrape the inside!

And talk about the spiders!

But who knows maybe my sweet slim smooth sliding paddler will win that race some day!
