PJ, that sounds like Gary Nelson's model of Jean, the Portland Oregon riverboat. I've got a few photos of his model so I've attached a couple of photos of the control cables connecting to the main and monkey rudders.
As you say, it's a neat and easy solution in a tight spot. Gary reckoned that using the cables solved a heap of logistical problems on his Jean build.

You should only get those if there has been a change to the message Derek. It could be that the poster has simply corrected a spelling error, or something similar - I'll keep an eye on them for a few days and see if I can find a problem.
In the meantime, if you get another "Edited" message that you don't think should have been sent, please send me a copy of the original AND the "Edited" message via email - Use the "Forward" feature of your email reader so I get a copy of the complete messages including headers etc.
Send them to admin@paddleducks.co.uk

I often notice spelling errors in my posts and go back to correct them or (as in one yesterday) I forget to include a link and go back to add it after submitting the original post...

Ditto re editing my messages - comes from having sausages for fingers - they're always hitting the wrong keys and because I tend to be a bit ready, fire, aim I ususally end up doing a wee bit of editing after the event.
Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa!
