Hello everyone
My name is Jim MacIntyre and I have just joined into
the "Paddleducks" forum.
I am currently building the paddle steamer "Waverley" from old MSB
plans. I reduced the scale from the original 1/54 to an approximation
of HO rail guage (1/87).
The hull (POF) and main deck are completed and I am now at a
standstill with several issues on...... you guessed it "PADDLES".
I would welcome correspondence with anyone who has built this model
or anyone who has suggestions from their own experience with side
paddles. In brief the main issues are :
a) one single drive shaft or split shaft for better control.
b) building the paddles in this scale
c) mounting the paddles through the hull (my past experience has been
with conventional propulsion)
Look forward to hearing from you
Sincerely
Jim Macintyre
