Title: Captain Stuart plans
Post by: dragoncity on June 20, 2005, 06:09:38 AM
There is a decent side view plan (drawing) of Captian Stuart in the book
"Redgum & Paddlewheels" x Peter J Philips . ISBN 909104 26 3 ( pub 1980),
page 54-55,
also page 56 has a side and stern view photos ( taken 1980) at Goolwa.

I've tried to scan these in but without much success, as the books quality
is not good. ( I think the paper absorbs to much light ? )

Another book "The wheels Still Turn" by Peter Plowman ISAN 0 86417 428 4 (
pub 1992 has a nice photo (small). I think on her launch in 1917

There are three ( very small ) photos in "Ships of the Inland Rivers" x
Ronald Persons ISBN 0 9595446 3 1 ( pub 1987)

1) stern view
2) stern view of Capt. STUART pushing a DERRICK BARGE which was also being
towed by P.S INDUSTRY !
3) a front view of her with three barges, one front and center, and the other
two strapped to the sides of the front barge , overlapping the hull of Capt.
Stuart. ( must have been a handfull ! )
